Members' Minutes
 
Tournament Set-up:
We will be setting up for the women's tournament on Friday, the 19th from 9 to 11 pm.
 
Practice Note:
Practice on Friday, Oct. 3 will end early at 9:00.  Rumor is that the room will be used to house a visiting team.
 
Women's Tournament:
A women's tournament is scheduled for 9/20, this Saturday.  the Gym opens at 9:00, Registration closes at 9:30, and fencing begins at 10 am.  It will be a very informal tournament, and the last place finisher will be the served for dinner.  Attending is UVA, Mary Baldwin, Hollins, and Tech.  Fencers will be permitted to fence all three weapons.
 
Monday Night Tradition:
For those of you how don't know: every Monday night we go to Macadoo's straight from the end of practice.  It's great fun for everyone, and you should come out.  So get your homework done before practice if that's an issue.

Squad captains have been chosen and voted upon, and have been selected as follows:
Men's Team:

             Epee - (Open)

             Foil - Jen Webster
             Epee - Krista D'Albenzio
             Saber - Caitlin Eubank
 
Preferred form of homage is a sacrificial blood offering.
 
Old Business
~If you were born during or after 1984, you are eligible for Junior Olympic Qualifiers. 
~If you haven't filed a death form,
 
New Fonts:
New fonts have been implemented to help those of us with aging eyes, and for people with poor point control.
 
 
Officers' Minutes
 
Women's Tournament:
Directing: the Vice President, The Treasurer, possibly the Sergeant At Arms.  We will have 5 strips available to us.  VIWFA meeting will follow.
 
Fundraising:
We will be selling subway sandwiches at the Tech Open.  Burger King, McDonalds, and Pizza Hut are still pending.  We will also have a cardiac Surgeon on hand to unclog your veins after eating these foods. 
 
Tech Open:
Will be held October 15 and 26.  Various body parts of several animals are being rounded up for the trophies.  We will also be selling shirts, however we have adjusted the sizes ordered to account for the fact that we don't have an army of giants. 
 
 
Newbie Class:
The Newbie Tournament will be held on Nov. 2.  Gloves are being ordered.
 
Armourer's Grocery List:
~getting tape for tournaments
~The Tripplette order came in, however they sent us the wrong kind of real cord.  The armourer and her apprentice is currently assembling said received weapons.
~Some tools are missing from the tool box.  Some of it has been accounted for.
~An order of random pieces, such as screws, tips, glue, etc. is needed
