Virginia Tech Fencing Club Minutes, 10/15/03

Members' Minutes

Constitutional Changes:
The Following Proposed Constitutional Changes will be voted upon during the Bi-Annual meeting.  text in red will be removed, text in green will be added:

Constitution, Article II-Membership, Section I - Membership Requirements, Subsection 4:

Members who are under the age of 18 and not a full time Virginia Tech student must have a club member sponsor them for club participation Membership.  Youth 14 years of age or younger must also have a legal guardian present for club participation.  Membership is subject to Presidential approval.  Herein after referred to as “junior members.”

~This is to close a possible loophole, in which a member under 18 and not a Tech student could be their own sponsor.

Constitution, Article V - Finance:

Dues will be charged to each regular, associate, and junior member. If the need arises, the President may request additional funds from the membership, if approved by a majority vote of the membership present.  Dues Shall be paid by the beginning of the Third week from the start of the semester.  The setting of the budget is a major responsibility of the President, Treasurer and other officers as they prepare for the yearly budget board. These budget board presentations are to be professional and well organized and shall be prepared prior to the annual budget board meetings.

~This is because the club has things that need to be paid for at the beginning of the semester.
