Virginia Tech Fencing Club Minutes, 10/22/03

Members' Minutes

Tech Open:
~For those of us who don't know:  Open means anyone can fence.  This is a USFA event, so you have to join USFA to fence.  That's $40 for a year's membership.  Then to fence in the tournament is $10 to fence one weapon, and $5 for each additional weapon you want to fence.  All of this can be done the day of the tournament, and we'll have the membership forms for you to fill out, but here's what it looks like, so you know what to expect.  Naturally, you can direct any questions to any of the older members, who will be able to help you.

~The Tech Open is on this weekend, Oct. 25 & 26, in room 141, War Memorial Gym.  Foil on Saturday, Epee and Saber on Sunday.  Gym opens at 9:00, registration for foil and epee closes at 9:30, and fencing begins at 10:00.  Saber registration closes at 1:30, with fencing beginning at 2:00.
