Glove Order:
A glove order for the Newbie Class will be put in on Monday. If you wish to order a glove and have not done so contact an officer ASAP! Glove size and if you’re a righty or lefty is required.
Tryouts:
Men’s Team try-outs will be held September 27th and 29th. Saber and Foil will be held on the 27th. Epee will be held on the 29th. All interested are encouraged to come out or contact the Men’s Team Cpt Paul.
Newbie Tournament:
Oct. 17th will be the Newbie Tourney in War Memorial. All newbies are encouraged to attend and find out who is the best of the class. Set-up will be at 12:30 with fencing to commence between 12:45 and 1. Medals will be awarded!! No dues required.
Men’s Team:
Your first comp. will be the VA Cup on Oct. 16th. Both the Temple Open and the Penn State Open tournament dates were confirmed. However, due to conflicts with other events we have decided not to attend.
Tech Open:
This year’s t-shirt will again be designed by the ingenious Mason Eoyang. It will play off last year’s shirt design. Now that the text has been decided he can get to work on the design. Stay tuned for details. We have also chosen the swords for first place. Follow the link to check out the swords. HPT:
HPT will be visiting practice on Wed. Sept. 29th at about 8:25 to give a short talk on dehydration. The talk will only last about 5 to 10 minutes and at the end you get a FREE water bottle.
Bi-annual Meeting:
The date for the bi-annual meeting has been set for Wednesday, Oct. 20th. Any changes to the constitution, details for the Tech Open, and election of a new Sergeant at Arms are the main agenda items. In order to vote on changes or in the election you must have paid dues!! Newbies are welcome to attend. However, if you want to be able to vote you must pay your dues by this date.
Dues:
Pay your dues at McComas and tell James, our treasurer, when you do. Students pay $55.00/semester or $100.00/year. (yes, you save money if you stick around the whole year. Think about it.)
Community Service:
We will be collecting items for troops in Iraq at practice. Megan hopes to have a list of items to purchase and donate to us next week.
