Virginia Cup:
Paul sent out an e-mail to the team with details for departure. Pick up the gear you need Wednesday or Thursday night! Good Luck!!
Newbie Tournament:
Don?t forget to attend the tournament on Sunday! The gym opens at 12 so we can begin set up. We will start fencing as soon as possible. If you know you can attend or help out let Megan know. Good luck to everyone!
Men's Team:
Men?s foil and saber squad captain nominations were voted on and approved at the meeting. Paul Youmans is the new foil squad captain and Dustin Arendt is the new saber squad captain. Epee?s squad captain is temporarily Paul Youmans.
Tech Open:
The swords have been sent to the engravers. The t-shirt design will be in next week. We will be ordering about the same amount of shirts as last year. We will also be ordering a reprint of about 25 t-shirts of last year?s design.
Social:
We have decided to cancel the corn maze and bonfire for this year. The rains from all the hurricanes this year destroyed the maze. We are working on a replacement activity.
Fall Meeting:
The fall meeting will be held Oct. 20th. Practice will be held after if there is time. If you have paid dues and cannot attend the meeting you can vote for or against Dustin Arendt as the new Sergeant at Arms on-line. Send your vote to Kelley. If you send your vote to the listserv it WILL NOT be counted. You must attend the meeting to vote on the Constitution changes. They cannot be voted on on-line.
Community Service:
We are still collecting items for troops in Iraq until Oct. 22nd. Megan will try to have a list posted onto the website soon. This is a very worthy cause that will only take a few minutes of your time and a few dollars from your pocket.
Fund Raising:
We are now selling tickets for the 50/50 raffle. See an officer to get tickets to sell or to buy tickets. Tickets sell for a $1. The pot will be split 50/50 between the club and the winner. So the more tickets we sell the larger the winnings at the end. The raffle will end with a drawing at the Tech Open on Nov. 14th. You don?t have to be present to win! We will also be selling tickets and doughnuts on the drill field on Nov. 10th and 11th. The times are from 9:30 to 2. Let James know when you can help out.
