Virginia Tech Fencing Club Minutes, 3/14/05

My Monologue:

Beginners Tournament

The Beginners Tournament (foil only) will be held this Sunday.  We have the gym from 12:00 to 5:00.  Old members, please show up at 12:00 to help set up.  Beginners should show up at 12:30 to begin checking out gear and warming up.  Fencing will start at 1:00PM.

USACFC

Our final team event is coming up.  This year USACFC will be held at Michigan State which is between 10 and 11 hours away from here.  We will be meeting outside War Memorial Gym at 9:30 leaving Tech by 10:00AM on Friday.  Email your team captain if you have conflicts; you will get a letter from Rec. Sports formally excusing you for the time missed.

Jackets

Fencing club jackets (not the ones you fence in) should have arrived.  Speak with James at practice if you have ordered one and bring a check to pay with.

Elections and Amendments (updates/changes are in yellow)

The annual meeting will be held Wednesday March 30^th.  We will elect officers for next year and vote on proposed amendments.  Online nominations of officers will begin March 16^th and end March 22^nd.  Nominations and proposed amendments are sent to the listserv.  Any current member can nominate any other eligible current member.  The nominee must accept or decline the nomination by responding to the listserv.  Online voting (if you can’t make the meeting in person to vote) will begin March 23^rd and end March 30^th.  Jen Lin will be acting as a neutral 3^rd party to collect online votes (so votes are emailed to her and NOT to the listserv).  Online voting ends at 12:00 Noon the day of the annual meeting (March 30^th).

Social Events:

There are no social events planned at this time (except for the end of the year banquet of course).
