Virginia Tech. Fencing Club Minutes 02/15/2006
“Just the Facts, Ma’am”

"The enemy is anybody who's going to get you killed, no matter which side he's on."
Joseph Heller (1923 - ), Catch 22

Officer Nights:
Monday:          Austin, Anne, Melinda
Tuesday:
       Anne, Sarah, Mary Clark
Wednesday:    Austin, Sarah, James
Thursday:        James, Melinda
Friday:             Paul, Rotation = Mary Clark

Due to planning for SAC and other things there were no minutes last week, my apologies.

Beginners Lessons:
New Fencers, don’t miss practice or we’ll set the Sabre squad after you.  Old Folks, show up and help out with the lessons, it makes them so much better when we can get people into groups.

VIWFA Champs:
UVA will be hosting VIWFA Champs on March 18th.  YAY!

MACFA Champs:
The MACFA Championship tournament has been rescheduled for St. Johns college in Annapalis.  The format for the Main part of the tournament is the same but the format for individuals has changed.  It will now be:

“A direct elimination of 8 fencers. Take up 4 from A, 3 from B and 1 from C. The seeding would be A strip 1-4, B strip 5-7 and C strip seeded 8. Awards given to 1,2 and two third place medals for the semifinalists in the individual competition. In addition, medals would be given to the first three places on the A, B, and C strips.”

Senior Swords:
Senior Swords should be ordered shortly.

SAC: We've been SAC'ed
Yay!  SAC is over.  I am trying to figure out how to pull full results out of it, but it's a work in progress.

Alumni Tournament:
We are looking into changing the date for the Alumni tournament.  Right now it coincides with a large tournament near Maryland, and many of our Alumns and some of our current members would go to that instead.

Wash the Whites Day:
Friday March 24th is now officially Wash the Whites Day, the officers and any volunteers will be meeting up in War to Wash all of the whites.  Its time to get rid of the years worth of grime and sweat they've collected.

Biannual Meeting:
The Biannual meeting will be Monday March 13th  at the meeting we will vote for a new officer corps and go over any possible constitution changes.  If you would like to submit any constitutional changes please email me, Sarge.  Online nominations for new officers will begin over the listserv on February 27th.
