Virginia Tech. Fencing Club Minutes 03/15/2006

Officer Nights:
Monday:          Austin, Anne, Melinda
Tuesday:  
       Anne, Sarah, Mary Clark
Wednesday:    Austin, Sarah, James
Thursday:        James, Melinda
Friday:             Paul, Rotation = Melinda, and whoever wanted to help build many foils...

Beginners:
The beginner's tournament was held on Sunday in the War Memorial Gym, results will come eventually.
Also, Beginner's :Lessons are over, and Intermediate lessons are beginning.

USACFC:
We are preparing for USACFC this year, information should be sent out to Team members.

Biannual Meeting:
Results have been sent out, new officers will assume their positions on April 3rd.

Legacy Files:
We are now working on the Legacy Files, basically records of how we did everything we've done this year for other people to look at in the future.

Equipment:
We have ordered some blades already so we can get stock back up, and we are working on the rest.  All gear needs to be returned by Wednesday at the latest when we will do a full inventory of all of our gear.


Women's Team:
The Women's Team fenced in VIWFA Champs this weekend and did very well!  Foil received 2nd overall with Anne Kurtz placing 3rd in individuals.  Epee received 1st overall with Michelle Yancey and Sarah Saville placing 1st and 2nd (respectively) in individuals.  Sabre also received 1st overall.

Alumni Tournament:
The Alumni Tournament will now be on Saturday April 15th, we can foresee no conflicts with this date.  The Alumni Newsletter is being (or has been) sent out.
We will also be doing some fundraising the week before the tournament (selling doughnuts, I believe).

Wash the Whites Day:  This Friday!
Friday March 24th is now officially Wash the Whites Day, the officers and any volunteers will be meeting up in War to Wash all of the whites.  Its time to get rid of the years worth of grime and sweat they've collected.

Officer Meetings are held on Wednesdays at 6:15 pm in the Ground Floor of Payne Hall.  Everyone is welcome to attend.
