Once upon a meeting dreary, while I
Pondered, weak and weary,
Over all the many meetings
That are usually a bore
While I nodded, nearly napping,
Suddenly there came some rapping,
Because someone?s bass was tapping,
On our eardrums through the floor.
?Tis some student?s groove,? I muttered,
?that we?re hearing through the floor.
Stupid Payne, and nothing more.?
Ah, distinctly I recall,
All the days long gone in fall
When we ne?ry thought at all
Of horrors such as the MACFA rut.
Now it?s over, but we?ll unravel
And crush all hopes into gravel
Of other fencers as we travel
To FDU to kick some butt.
Ah the rare and wonderful feeling
Of kicking another fencer?s butt
And shopping NY?s Sunglass Hut.
I daydream, and watch a flutt?ring curtain
knowing VIFWA is for certain
not to be as complicated as
the other tournaments went
Then I spy the constitution,
And my dreams fill with pollution
Since my mind?s new resolution
Is that I must work out it?s dents.
Oh the revisions that await me
trying to fix that docu-ment
After seven tests I?m spent.
Presently I?m trapped unknowing
In an airport for a Boeing
I?ve been waiting for some hours on a seat both cold and hard.
All the goings on here baffle
But the 50-50 raffle
Is going to still continue,
just like all the pizza cards.
And to sell them may require
you get up and work off some lard
If you want money to play ?En Guard?
Nominations are ongoing,
At this guy I feel like throwing
My computer since he just told me my flight may not arrive.
So anyway, the annual meeting
Since we don?t want any cheating,
Send your votes online to Krista
and she?ll bring ?em, that?s the jive.
Yes, Jen Lin will now be running
She?s not neutral but still alive,
Out this window I may dive.
They almost routed me through Boston
A guy went by that looked like Austin
And all that they tell me is that it?s the wind that keeps a? blow
I?m further from my destination
Than when I started this vacation
I sit here in rapt fascination of the way they run this show.
Yes, you may never see me again because all my flights are no-go.
Perhaps I?ll get back, you never know.
The hotel cost is 36 dollars
And before I hear the hollers
Remember that the club has footed the bill to get a bus to take
Maryland agreed to ride
Up to New Hampshire by our side
So our officers do not deride,
And much happiness we shall make,
Getting back to tech because so many classes are at stake.
Come and enjoy as Ms. Lin bakes
So this meeting, never ending,
Selling candy is still pending
It?s now 2 am and I have finally gotten to my door
So this is where I shall leave you
My entire brain is shot through
And I think I?ll go to bed and perhaps remain there evermore.
Time to dream of lovely fencing and remember being sore,
And will I travel? - Nevermore!
